Eyre
The Eyre region encompasses the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Ceduna, Cleve, Elliston, Franklin Harbour, Kimba, Le Hunte, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Port Lincoln, Streaky Bay and Tumby Bay, and the unincorporated areas of Lincoln and West Coast.

The Eyre region has a relatively middle-aged population profile, with above average proportions of children and people aged between 45 and 64 years, and below average proportions of youth and young adults. The region has above average proportions of families with children. There have been below average population increases over recent years, particularly in the Ceduna and Port Lincoln council areas, and the population is projected to continue to grow at a rate lower than the State average.
Key labour force indicators for the Eyre region show above average labour force participation rates, and low levels of unemployment. Eyre residents are represented highly in Managers & Administrators, (primarily Farmers and Farm Managers) production and labourer occupations. Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing dominates the region as by far the largest employing industry.
The general level of education and qualifications in the Eyre region is below the State average, with below average levels of school achievement and post-school qualifications. This may be a reflection of the relatively low proportions of younger adults in the region.
With relatively low unemployment rates and high workforce participation, the population of the Eyre region is relatively secure in economic terms, though highly dependent on favourable environmental conditions. The region records slightly below average income levels and high proportions of homes owned outright, and below average levels of income support recipients.
