Better Skills. Better Work. Better State: A Strategy for the Development of South Australia's Workforce to 2010 [PDF 964KB] is the South Australian Government's state-wide strategy to guide the development of South Australia's current and future workforce. Its vision is for South Australia to have an efficient, highly skilled workforce that supports a globally competitive economy and socially inclusive community. The strategy comprises three interrelated priorities:
- A High Skill Economy
- Quality Employment
- Better Workforce Planning.

Workforce Development Action Plan

The Workforce Development Action Plan [PDF 744KB] has been developed to showcase past, present and planned projects that support workforce development across the state. These projects form, in part, implementation of the priority areas of the Workforce Development Strategy. The Action Plan demonstrates partnership between industry, government, community and education providers in addressing a range of workforce challenges.

Skills for South Australia: Building on Strong Foundations [PDF 1.1MB] is a package of 24 new skills initiatives valued at $98 million over four years, beginning 2006-07. The initiatives focus on seven priorities including: (1) responding to the skill needs of major projects; (2) developing a skilled workforce; (3) workforce planning and information; (4) increasing and improving workforce participation; (5) increasing science and mathematics in schools; (6) increasing skilled migration and (7) fostering career development.
