Industry Workforce Planning

Industry Workforce Action Plans are being developed for six priority industries in South Australia:

  Advanced Manufacturing Defence
Agrifood and Wine Health and Community Services
  Construction Resources

The Industry Workforce Action Plans have been undertaken in response to identified industry demand in areas of strong economic growth, and as collaborative initiatives between industry and government. They identify the challenges facing the industries in their future growth, and outline strategies and actions to address these challenges.

Each Industry Workforce Action Plan has been developed with information acquired through extensive industry consultation and feedback, and reflects the diverse challenges facing the industries in progressing and prospering in a changing and challenging environment.

Agrifood and Wine

The Agrifood and Wine Industry Workforce Action Plan focuses on five key areas:

  1. Better workforce planning and development and promotion of best practices.
  2. Innovative attraction and retention strategies.
  3. Improved access to education, training and skills development opportunities.
  4. Better government, industry and regional coordination to deliver on skill needs.
  5. Strengthened links between industry and research organisations to improve the uptake of research findings.

The Plan seeks to secure the skilled, efficient and diverse workforce it requires to meet the changing needs of the industries.

The development of the Plan has been led by industry with support from government. The Food, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Skills Advisory Council, the Primary Industry Skills Council, the Premier’s Food Council, the SA Wine Council have been significant contributors to the development of the Plan.

An alliance of stakeholders from the Agrifood and Wine industries will oversee implementation in collaboration with government agencies.
